Born and raised in Rochester, MN, Daniel Pulford’s life has been a testament to dedication, service, and community. From his early years attending public schools in Rochester to his graduation from Mayo High School in 1973, Daniel’s journey has been marked by a commitment to making a difference.
Following high school, Daniel pursued higher education at Rochester Community College and Winona State University. His academic pursuits were soon complemented by a deep sense of duty, leading him to serve in the US Army. As a Military Police Officer stationed in Panama, Central America from 1974 to 1976, Daniel’s experiences shaped his understanding of leadership, discipline, and the importance of protecting others.
Returning to Rochester, Daniel continued his military service in the Military Reserve unit from 1976 to 1978. His transition from military to civilian life saw him join the Olmsted County Sheriff Department, where he served from 1978 to 1980. His commitment to law enforcement didn’t stop there; he joined the Rochester Police Department in 1980, embarking on a distinguished career that spanned nearly three decades. By the time he retired in 2008, Daniel had risen to the rank of Lieutenant, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues and the community.
Throughout his career, Daniel’s dedication extended beyond his professional responsibilities. As a past Commander of DAV Mayo Southeast Chapter 28, he played a crucial role in supporting fellow veterans, advocating for their needs, and ensuring their contributions were recognized.
In addition to his professional and community service, Daniel cherishes his personal life. He is married and has two children, finding joy and strength in his family.
