Wayne Herivel’s involvement began with a phone call from Ken Zubay. Ken explained that he needed “just a little help” to maintain the memorial’s web site. Nobody could ever say “No” to Ken so Wayne Herivel became Ken’s assistant on January 12, 2004. It seemed like a good time to redesign the original web site and build upon the work done by Ken. The new site was published in early February 2004.In addition to maintaining the web site over the years, Wayne Herivel has improved the Veterans’ database making more information easily available to Visitors. Other site enhancements include an on-line order form for new paver purchases and on-line payment. His contacts also saved many dollars on equipment and software.
In early 2008, we were contacted by the Chairman of Veterans Grove Memorial in Kent County Michigan, asking for assistance. Wayne developed a presentation about Soldiers Field Veterans Memorial and went to Michigan to present the work done by so many before. This presentation is available for use locally.
In October 2010 the web site was given another face lift to further improve the Visitors’ experience. Photos of special dedications (benches, statues) were also added to the site.
Wayne Herivel continues to maintain the web site and supporting database under the direction of Wayne Stillman.
